I carry a S&W model 60 quite often and was wondering what every body else was using for carry loads. I currently use GD 135 +p 38spl. I have heard good things about the 125 Remington Golden Sabre .357 and the GD .357 Short Barrel, both being medium loads. I have put a boot grip on it for ease of carry and find full magnums accurate but slow. I do a lot of hiking but it is generally on public trails near the city so a full size is not always an option, and the snubbie just drops right into my pocket.Has anybody shot the GS or the GDSB, have you chronographed  them? other sites seem to be quite varied in their info on these two rounds. should I just stick with the current load?

I like the .357 Short Barrel load a lot. I have not chronoed it out of a snub, but it broke 1250 fps out of my 6 inch Model 28. Light recoil makes for faster followup shots. Were I to carry a .357, it's probably what I'd use.

I tried the medium .357 loads for my Mdl 60 also.  It slowed the recovery/2nd shot time down enough that I decided to stay with the .38 +P.

I have some Federal Personal Defense 130 grain hydrashocks in my SP101.  They hit a bit....high, I think.  The gun is regulated for 158 grain bullets.  Recoil with those 130 grains is very sharp as well, I much prefer 158 grainers out of it.  I haven't tried the new 'short barrel' rounds yet, but I hear they are very good out of the snubbies, with good velocities and relatively mild recoil.

Mine is loaded with remington 125 grain SJHP magnums.
