the Glock 25 and 28 do not meet  the ATFs points system. They need so many points to be imported. No they are not for sell to the civilian market. It was mainly designed to be sold in the South American markets.

Insufficient batf points.  www.glockfaq.com/models.htm#points
Scroll down and they give the points for different features.

Not much point anyway, capacity is said to be the same as 9mm as is frame size.  Why go down in calire?

In certain countries civilians cannot own military calibers like 9x19. I think the 25 and the 28 would sell great in our market for women shooters who want something a bit smaller than 9mm.

You can buy slides right ?

So all you guys need to do is convince a barrel manufacturer to chaber the barrel for the 380 then get the two fit togeher, right?

I'm confused about this point system - its clear that they illegal to IMPORT for civilian sales, but are they illegal to OWN by civilians?

I'd really love to own one...just to own one.

They cannot be imported for civilian sale, but as I understand it there is nothing illegal about a civilian owning one.  Get a cop buddy to buy you one.  I've heard of this being done before, even saw a 28 for sale over on glocktalk.

The point system is to prevent "cheap saturday night specials" from being imported into the country. This was the big gun grabbers fear mongering point 20+ years ago. You don't hear as much about it as you used to. Besides we have Raven, Hi point and Jennings (actually one got sued out of business I think, I just cannot remember which)

Not that easy. Jarvis or Barsto tried several years ago. The semi-blow back,
lighter slide and the ladder back mags were just a few of the problems.

There's nothing, other than willing acquiesence, that prevents Glock from importing just the slides and barrels.  The slide will fit on a Glock 9mm frame.
