What do I need to convert my .45ACP 1911 to .38 Super?

It will mainly be for competitive shooting (ISSF Centerfire pistol).

New ejector pinned to the frame.

Entire top end, slide, firing pin, barrel, extractor etc.

mags.

You might as well just buy a .38 Super.

Cost savings are that great.

Just get another pistol.

approx cost
230 slide
65 bomars
140 barrel
2 fp
2 fp spring
10 slide stop
45 extractor
30 ejector

approx 530 in parts, plus gunsmith fees.

What about converting it to 9mm?

See my cost post above. It still applies same if you wanted to goto 40 S&W.

Now if you had a 38 super and wanted 9mm all you need is a barrel.
