My LGS has a 1985 5" Ruger Redhawk in .41 Mag in really good shape(I'd almost call it like new) and I'm thinking about picking it up. Wondering if anyone here had good info about the .41 and if the asking price of $725 seems reasonable.

I have an older S&W 41 mag. I really enjoy it. I wouldn't want to shoot it all day but the ballistic tables show it to be a fairly awesome round for self defense or hunting. Mine has a 4" barrel so it's pretty hot.

Stainless or blued? I picked up a .44 like-new blued Redhawk for $550 two years ago. $725 seems a bit high.

Seems pretty high but with the FBHO scare and everything.....who the F knows.   My best shooting buddy loves the .41 mag. I understand it is really a twin to the 10mm in ballistics.  I have a Smith 610 and love it.  Ruger revolvers are awesome.....not so much with their other stuff.

Shit......I am drunk posting....time to sign off for the night.

I have that very gun.  I love it...  However $725 sounds very high to me, but I haven't priced them rececently.

It's blued. I agree $725 seemed kind high, just wanted to seek out some other opinions. I wonder if it's because there aren't as many out there in .41 Mag.

10mm is no where near a ballistic twin of the .41 Mag it is much closer to the .357 Magnum with heavy bullets.

OP the price sounds a little high for a blued gun unless in pristine condition with box and paper work.  Ammo can be hard to come by unless you handload but the .41 Mag is on of my favorite handgun calibers.  It does a very nice job on whitetails if you are interested in handgun hunting.
