Has anyone had any problems shooting .45 Auto Rim ammunition out of there S&W revolvers. I had heard there was a problem with using it because of the firing pins being to short. Looking to see if this was fact or fiction thanks.

Not been a problem been using RP, PMC, and Starline brass with no problems.  Any problems might be related to tuned 625's that almost always need Fed 150 primers!

Thanks for the responses guys. Will be ordering a 325 Night Guard tomorrow and that was my last question. Not a deal breaker, but something I wanted to know. Would like to carry .45 Auto Rim in speed strips when I carry concealed.

??  Why not Moons or half moons?  One thing I have noticed is most of the factory AR is just lead ball.  I have not seen any self defense ammo in AR around here.

I have some custom loaded .45 Auto Rim for my S&W Model 25-3 (S&W Model of 1989). It's .45 Auto Rim with a Winchester Ranger SXT 230Gr JHP.

I have not had an issue at all with my ammo in my gun.

I like the way speed strips s lay flat in my pocket, just personal preference. Corbon is loading .45AR with there DPX  bullet, here is the link for folks to check out.

Never seen 45AR speed strips just 38/357 ones, although I have read of some 44Spec/44Mag speed strips?

Remember that the .45AR has a rim nearly twice as thick as those other rounds mentioned, in order to set the correct headspace that is notmally set for the .45ACP with a moonclip. The .45AR might not fit onto that speedstrip, and even if it does, it may not be secure enough to put in a pocket that way. I'd check it out first.

Then you can let me know for my .45AR.

I just ordered a set. They should be here in couple of days. When the corbon 45AR gets here I will report back with how I make out, thanks for the heads up.

I believe Black Hills makes a 255 gr Keith SWC load for the AR, somewhere in the vicinity of 850 fps.  A little slow, but it'll get the job done.  I load the Oregon Trail 255 SWC over a charge of Universal and it clocks at 1000 fps out of my Thunder Ranch Model 22.
