There are plenty of +P loyalists, and there are those that say +P is just more bang and flash, for a mildly faster bullet that may or may not be more effective Personally I'm not a big +P guy, I recommend you do your own research and come to your own conclusion, as YMMV |

There are maximum pressures set by SAAMI for various cartidges. "+P" is like a bonus spec found normally on older loads (.45ACP, .38spcl, 9mm) that are normally about 10% higher pressure than the standard loading. Increased recoil, flash and noise can be expected. I like +P if available. IMO, if it's available for defensive ammo I use it.
Google "SAAMI pressure" for an interesting look at the pressures of various loads. |
