hey guys, im about to turn 21 at the beginning of June, the question i have is can i go ahead and apply for my ccw permit even though im not 21 yet, that way when i turn 21 i wont have to wait for the permit paperwork to be filed and the permit be issued, meaning the permit wouldn't be valid till i turned 21 but i still have the permit and i would have to wait till i turn 21 to use it, im in Virginia by the way, thanks guys for any info

here in NY you have to be 21 to turn the paperwork in so most likely you can pick it up and get it all done and hand it in on your birthday

ps. be lucky your not here in NY because i turned mine in 2 weeks ago and when i did they told me the wait time was 12 months

It varies by state, but generally, you have to be 21 to apply. In KY, you must be 21 to take the CCW class, which must be completed before you apply.

VA was pretty quick, I got mine in Virginia Beach in about a week's time when I lived there.
