Are you sure that is not just the front of the chamber that the cartridge case headspaces on?  That is what it sounds like to me.  Some of the 9mms also have a ring cut in the chamber, around the chamber wall but I do not recall that being used on the USPC.  You stick bullets by low pressure, not high, so I am quite certain you did not damage your barrel and you are seeing the front end of the chamber.  The only way you damage a firearm from sticking a bullet is by firing another behind in, which results in extremely high pressures.  Stuck bullets by themselves do nothing and do not cause damage, unless the owner damages it while removing the stuck bullet.
You are fine, that I am almost certain about.

thats what I thought, but I dont recall seeing that line before but I never paid attention to it. The bullet got stuck just past that line, The following round would not let the slide close all the way. the bullet was hitting the stuck bullet. thanks

No way cycling the slide will damage the barrel.
Clean it really good and fire it and the ring should go away.

If it doesn't, that bullet that got stuck wasn't your first squib.
