By excluding +P's you greatly limit your possibilities. The Federal Nyclad Chief's Special load you mentioned was discontinued a few years ago. Ammoman.com still has some, but their supply won't last forever.

Winchester makes a  standard pressure 110-grain Silvertip that isn't bad. I've shot a couple boxes over the years in several S&W J-frames. Recoil isn't bad.

The history of wadcutters for personal defense is quite variable. Sometimes it works fine, other times   the gun is emptied and the bad guy still does his nefarious deed. In the one incident I'm personally aware of, a single WC took the guy down like he was struck by Thor's hammer. Of course he was hit in the leg and his femur was broken...

The NON +Ps are kinda stout for my Mom

If my 640 wasnt stolen?

I would go ahead and USE  the +P the 640 is kinda heavy and dont kick as bad as A.W. with +P

Back in the 80`s I carreied 158HPSWC ONLY  even in my sw M&P

The round was made by Village Metal Works, but the website is no longer available. Like so many overpriced boutique loads, I'd be surprised if Safe Stop is still manufactured. Stick to the big manufacturer's loads. They didn't get big by making garbage.

Ammoman.com seems to be down to their last few boxes of 125gr Nyclads.  He used to have a 5-box minimum on that ammo, but after I ordered 10 boxes from him the other day, that option disappeared off his website.  It's now single boxes only, and I suspect he's only got a few.

So if you want 'em, now's the time to buy!  They are standard pressure rounds (not +P), so they're a breeze to shoot even in small, lightweight guns.
