Both are great guns, I find myself to be slightly more accurate with the Sig though. Points go to the Beretta for average cost of handgun, plus magazines though since surplus 92 mags for around 10-15 bucks are pretty common.

Good arguments could be made for either.  Cost of accessories and mags in favor of the beretta.

What do you shoot better?

Another thing I forgot to mention in negative of the Sig is depending on your grip style. Some people who grip high on a handgun or with a thumbs forward style, will find themselves accidently engaging the Sig's controls causing the slide not to lock back when empty.

Only if you buy checkmates or other .mil contract mags, Mec-Gar mags are about the same for both (about $23ea)

I personally would not waste my money on Checkmate's, my Sig and Beretta both sport Mec-Gar Optimum's

I really like the Beretta's DA pull with the "D" spring instaled, But then again I like the Sig's SA and reset with the SRT better than the Beretta's SA

I do this every single time unless I am thinking about it, I really hate the "tucked thumb" grip

Years of shooting 1911's and Glocks have coded it in my brain to use the "thumb forward" grip style

Both are roughly equal except for the following:

Beretta: slide mounted safety is kind of a PITA.  No dovetail front sight.  D-model mainspring can easily be installed to improve trigger.  Mag catch can be swapped to the other side.

SIG: Goofy slide stop lever location

Personally I've gotten rid of all my SIGs and kept the Berettas.  YMMV.
