| I was wondering if anyone out there carries while biking?I do lots of mountain biking deep in state forest usually alone is there any danger of having handgun in backpack. And yes there is a chance of crashing,going over bars . |

Modern semi-auto handguns don't "just go off" if dropped. They all have firing pin blocks that only disengage when the trigger is toward the rear of the pull.
Keep whatever you carry in a holster that covers the trigger and you can take an endo off of El Capitan and your gun isn't going to fire. (Can't say that you will come out well though.) Some people will probably say it might take too long to reach something in a backpack. You'll have to decide on accessibility. An outer pocket or Camelback pocket is still better than nothing. |

Hill People Gear kit bag.
Pick the size you need, and the foliage green color is very close to grey. It does not stand out as a gun related product in my AO. That is of course assuming that you do not otherwise dress like tactical Timmy. I wear very plain and discrete clothing, and I think it helps to blend in with the granola crowd. Be aware, that big chunk of metal can make for some good bruises when you land on it.
Last time I went over the handlebars on my mountain bike, I was wearing a 5.11 Select Carry pack. I had a handgun in the front across my chest. The big bag in the back had water, first aid kit, and a jacket (padding). No injury from the gun up front or the pack on the back. (My broken hand was another story). A standalone chest rig would be a good choice too. |

Actually using a Galco Escort waistpack. It is ok but it tends to be in the way. I find that I have to carry it with the pack in the small of my back. Not exactly ideal though.
Looking at getting the HI'll People Gear kit bag. Like how it is worn around the chest area and the carry harness. |

A purpose built fanny pack. Yeah screw it what is said about them on gun boards. The only people that will notice iare other shooters. Who cares? I seriously think most people have their heads too far in their cell phones to notice if you were wearing a plate carrier and NVGs. Advantages of the fanny pack are immediate accessibility and actually having control of the pistol/revolver. IE it's not bouncing around in a pack, it's on your body. The gun board commandos that make fun of you for the bag, where do they have their pistol on their bike? At home? In the car? In a bag under their Mountain Dew and Cheetos? Are they even outside?  |

Look at the Hill People Gear Runner Kit Bag. I run and bike with it. Carry S&W M&P 9mm compact, and other misc. gear in it. My Crossbreed Supertuck fits nicely in the main compartment and doesn't move. I have full range of motion and no rubbing or binding anywhere from the shoulder and underarm straps.
I am a smaller guy at 5' 8" and 175lbs and the bag just fits. I may have actually been able to go with their smaller Snubby Kit Bag, but didn't. Having to do sharp turns on the bike isn't impeded by the bag either due to it being thin enough to allow you to bring your arm across your chest almost all the way. Nice design and sturdy enough for me. I did purchase the grey ripstop color option. It may be a "thinner" material... Not certain. Have also put on an Osprey child carrier with the Kit Bag on, and it was very comfortable as well. It's pricey, but I feel well worth it in the long run. Overall very happy with it and plan on years of use

Adding a red, orange, or blue pull cord makes the bag look even more "normal". OP, you ever decide which route to go? I biked 33 miles this weekend, and it jogged my memory to follow up on this thread. I love my kit bag.

I don't ride off road that much anymore. But, when I do the things I consider most of a threat are mountain lions (they've eaten a couple of riders out here) and more importantly two legged critters.
For those issues a 3" .357 Smith fill the bill nicely. I've tried a few different things, but a "tanker" style holster works best for me. |
). When I feel the need I have a tool bag that mounts to my handlebars I put a pistol in.

I easily carry a G19 along with my wallet, keys, iPhone 6 Plus, can of Skoal and a reload. |
