...so I want to change my .256" rear to a .240". Since I'm changing sights, I'd like to replace both polymer sights with factory Glock steel sights (Brownell's, MidwayUSA, etc.). Which front sight do I buy, screw on, or stake on? My original front (polymer) looks like it just snaps into place. |
Your original sight is staked on, but you want the screw on. I'd just buy the set that is made for the 22 and not worry about changing sight heights, as more than likely it is just you shooting high. You should probably just take the gun into a gun shop and have them install the sights. The rear should be installed with a sight pusher which cost $75+. Trijicon or Meprolight will cost less than $100 installed at your local shop, otherwise you could send the slide to Glock and have factory night sights installed for $60-70, IIRC. |

Try this link. Ameriglo has a sight height calculator and their sights and services are great. They have user-installable sights with a set screw for the rear sight and the front sight tool is usually included. Your current plastic sights have a little pin wedged in between the legs, the rear sights are a friction fit. I have a Glock sight pusher for convenience but the rear sights can be easily removed with a wooden dowel. www.ameriglo.net/weapon_site/sightcalc.htm |
