anyone have or heard of the doublestar GI 1911's ? i believe they were made before the current "tactical" versions.
were/are they any good ?

who knows, they weren't readily available

the only place to get them online was through budsgunshop and they were usually 'sold out'

I have spotted a couple of them at local gunshows.They were builds with GI parts,and doublestar frames.

As far as I know they had a cast frame and were decent shooters. Last year I order a stripped forged railed frame from DS and building my own gun.
