| I'm looking for opinions. I have a Argentine M1927 that has been refinished (not by me) and I'm thinking of sacrificing it to learn more about gunsmithing. I want to start with a drop in trigger kit. Brownells just sent me their 1911 catalog. I was looking at either the Cylinder & Slide Tactical II kit or the Nowlin MFG Pro Match trigger kit. Has anyone used these ? Any other kits I should look at? I'm also looking at the Ed Brown National Match trigger. At this point I just don't know enough to fit my own parts. Can anyone point me in the correct direction for books or videos on 1911 upgrades? I will eventually try and fit a new barrel in this but am wondering if I should try to fit an oversized barrel bushing to improve the accuracy first? It has alot of latteral slop between the slide and frame so I know it will take alot to make it accurate but like I said this one is to learn on. |

I've used the C&S 5 piece 4.5 lb hammer set. Dropped in with no issues other than a little tweaking of the sear spring. Good stuff. Completely transformed the trigger on my Springer Mil Spec. I second this. Several bullseye pistol smiths use the C&S drop in kit son their builds. They are that good. |

Like to put one in my Springer, but they aren't cheap. Lots of good detail strip videos on youtube, that's all you'll really need to know to drop one of these kits in. (they don't USUALLY require fitting) |
