I'm a 1911 guy at heart, but I'm trying to open my mind to other types of pistols and the Beretta seems like a good choice.  I am looking at getting something in a 40, but a confused at the various types and not sure what the differences are between them, specifically the FS, the G, and the INOX.  Can anyone help?

The FS models have a "traditional" safety/decock lever (down both decocks and disconnects the trigger bar,,,up for fire) while the "G" models are decock only (lever is spring loaded and returns to fire position when pistol is decocked). The "Inox" is their stainless steel model, but the frame is still alloy while a few parts are chrome plated.

These guys bleed Beretta blue and can answer all your questions...

Can't go wrong with wikipedia, seriously a great reference to what each of the different models entails.

When Bill Wilson started shooting IDPA he left his world-class 1911s at home & used a Beretta 92. They should tell folks something, IMO.

(Not to say the 92 is better then his 1911s, he just wanted something different!)

The only handguns I own at the moment are Wilson 1911's and a Beretta 92FS, hehe.  Funny stuff.  I love both.  I will always own a Beretta 92.

I've had many different handguns, but these have stayed with me.  I should've never sold my SIGs or DE .50, but oh well....

Shouldn't have done a lot of things.

check out the 96G from CDNN...they are used, but considerably cheaper than most 92's on GunBroker.  The 96 is the .40cal version of the 92, in case you're wondering.  CDNN carries them for $320 I think...

Hope this helps!
