I have a couple of G-Code paddle rigs for my 1911's. They are great holsters. You just have to check the screws that hold the holster to the paddle occasionally as they do tend to loosen with use.... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y71/mic214/Firearms/DSCN0192_edited.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y71/mic214/DSC_0165.jpg Blue Loctite (242) would fix that. |
| I have a BUNCH of them. Paddles, belt slides, canted paddles, and the comfort carry IWB harness. I love them. They fit well, hold well and are as comfortable as any kydex is. Gunners Alley is also a great place to get them. A few bucks more than Eagle, but they usually have more in stock...also just down the road from where they are made so they can get stock pretty quick and good folks to work with. The guy that makes G-code (Chris IIRC) is also very helpful on the phone. |

I've used G-Code for many years now (7 or 8 I think). I've only used their paddle and have had them for Glocks and 1911's. I've used one, in particular, that entire time for a Glock 30 that I had to carry concealed on the job for executive protection. Of all the kydex paddles I've tried, it is the only one that held the butt of the gun close enough (with the 15 degree cant paddle) to my body to properly conceal the gun. That G-Code is well worn, all the rivets are shiny brass now, but works just like the day I got it. Very comfortable, nice adjustable retention, and a sweat-guard; lots of value. I took that damn holster all over the world, beat it to hell, and it never failed me or missed a beat.
We recently switched from 30's to 36's. I needed a new holster only since I already had the canted paddle. Eagle allows you to order the holster only without a mounting platform, so I ordered from them. It was back-ordered for 2 months. I called several times to see what the hold up was as I was getting ready to attend a weeks tactical training and wanted to train with it. Each time they said they had not been able to reach G-Code after constant attempts by phone and email. They were pretty frustrated because they have a ton of back-orders to fill and can't. I canceled my order with Eagle and ordered a Comp-Tac adjustable cant paddle holster since I knew their production time was a week at the time, and thus, I could get it before the training started. I sent it back almost immediately upon receipt. It was extremely well made, however it printed TERRIBLY. Additionally, when I inserted the gun, I didn't get the positive locking "snick" that the G-Code had. Needless to say, I'm frustrated too, because I had to complete my training with a holster I probably won't be using. It probably is just as well, though. I trained with a holster that I'm forced to carry until I can get a G-Code, which is something I needed to do, and since I've carried a G-Code for so long, I won't be using anything unfamiliar when I finally get it. I tried to get Gunners Alley on the phone to see if they had any in stock, and struck out 3 times on that, too. Guess I'll just have to try to order online with them and see if it gets back-ordered or not. |
