hey guys ill keep this short but i am currently building a series of weapons, mostly i'm going by what i think will work best right now I'm saving up for my bolt action to be tuned, new barrel etc etc etc etc.. however I've decided i would like a 1911. i really would like to build one but as i begun to look into this i decided wasn't for me but then i was told about fusion firearms, so i looked into it and they sound good but i was wondering any of you guys dealt with one and are they gtg? and would a newbie 1911 owner be able to piece one of these bad boys together. I'm about 75% done with my ar15 assembly and just started putting some cash away for the bolt gun, so i kinda would like a play thing while i wait for the big one to get done and buy parts here and there for.

if your curious what I'm doing with it is simply this standard.

must be able to be CCW and have a TLR 2 Stream light, must be 45ACP (common round lots of ammo around my parts for it, easy to reload if needed lots knock down power.), able to handle punishment be able to be beaten and keep ticking work in adverse weather IE (Iowan snow, humidity, rain, shine and heat.) pull the trigger and it goes bang. (basically a GI model but want a one piece picatany rail)

Fusion is hit and miss.

You might look around for a Rock Island Tactical 2011 or if you want a challenge, try hunting for a Springfield GI Operator.

They weren't common and are less so now, but you never know what you'll find until you look.
