Had one years back when they first come out, only shot few rounds thru it...
Anyways, what do you guys think of the 10mm?? I will end up reloading for it.. Just kind of had 10mm on the mind lately, kind of use for a hiking in the woods gun.... or thinking of just getting a 44 revolver since I already have the dies brass and bullets.. what about the 20 VS the 29?? I kind of like the 29.. any thoughts>>?? |
| If it's really in like-new condition, I think you did well. I recently picked up a G20 for the same reasons (woods carry/outdoor use) and I love it. It groups tighter than I could ever hold shooting offhand. The 10mm cartridge itself is really what sold me, and I agree the full-frame model is the better choice for areas where you're more likely to shoot longer distances. |

Same problem here - I'm backordered on brass with 3 distributors right now. I only use starline 10mm.
Very hard to find right now. Just put an order in with Starline and wait for the next production run - unless you can reload some old brass - thats about your only option. I am reloading some of my old starline cases tomorrow - they hold up well. |

About the primers......it kinda depends on which powder you go with. Some of the powders burn more completely with a CCI350 magnum pistol primer. I use mostly CCI350's. Large pistol will work in them all, but if you are trying to maximize a certain loading there are times when a magnum pistol primer is appropriate.......and certain times large pistols work better. You just have to experiment.
180g bullets over 9.3gr of Longshot in new starline brass with a CCI350 is an awesome load. Some go up to 9.5gr and get nearly 1300fps Around 1250fps with the above load and it doesn't destroy your brass. I usually make some tame loads with those casings after shooting them full power once or twice. Have fun shooting - reloading made my shooting much more enjoyable. |

I got new primed Winchester 10mm brass from Rose Distribution back a number of years ago. While the price has gone up substantially, you might try them. BTW, I removed the large pistol primers and saved them for my 45acp loads. I only run CCI 350 Large Pistol Magnum primers in my 10mm loads as I'm packing alot of ball powder (specifically Power Pistol) into the case and I've found that you really need magnum primers to ignite the powder completely. The difference shows up in higher velocities, smaller SD, and completely burned powder. |
