Have heard rumors the 36 often has problems  ? FTE and such. Anyone have a good one ? Bad one ?

No, but from what I've read and heard, both technically and anecdotally, it seems it was more the early ones that had problems.  Not really sure what Glock actually did to "work out the bugs", but this seems to be the case, that earlier ones were sometimes problematic, and that ones made in more recent years are fine.

Sorry I don't have any long-term personal experience with one, but you'll see there will be several folks pop in who own, shoot, and carry their G36s who are very happy with them.

I've owned one that was 100%. Just wasn't my cup of tea, so I sold it.

I have used and carried one for the last 3 years and not had any problems.   I will be getting another one soon.

most of the ones i've seen/shot/handled had no problems...h/w, a good buddy of mine has had numerous FTFs/FTEs on various mags/ammo brands (well over 500 rnds through it so far), but so far, it seems to be working ok

It is my primary carry weapon. The gun has been 100% with about 5000 rounds thru it.

I have had a couple of FTE, but I attribute that to limp wristing, as they only happened when I was

using one hand to fire it. This is also my second G36, I had one prior and sold it thinking I would llike

a 1911 for a carry weapon. The first one was also 100%. I have heard the stories of FTE, but think alot of the

time it is limp wristing the gun. Just my opinion.

My cousin has one for him and one for his wife.  They shoot them often and no complaints.  On top of that my cousin is a 1911 guy and he carries his G36 all the time.

I bought one about 3 years ago and I has worked great.  I've shoot aprox. 4000 rounds through it.  Someone told me, take it for what's it worth, that the feedlips on the mags were changed, which improved reliability.

36 (2001 vintage) is my primary handgun.  It has gone "bang" every time (1000 rounds) with everything from Federal 165 gr. to CCI 230 gr.+P.  I'd dump it in a New York minute and replace if I had a lack of confidence in its mechanical ability.  It sits on the nightstand and goes in the glove compartment every day.

I've always thought of Glock as a compromise, but a darn good one.  The 36 grip is the only one that remotely fits me (have owned 17 and 22).

My daughter adopted my Glock  model 36 and its her plain clothes gun which she frequently carries since she's a full time LEO.  She shoots the 36 better than her issued Glock model 22.
