Is there a shop in south louisiana that you guys reccommend to get my 1911 a1 SA frame colored?? I would like to go two tone with one of my guns and that means going from a stainless frame to a black frame. Company I work for has aluminum anodized but I don't know that this is possible with stainless.... with that even be an option??? I've seen some cerakote colored/baked frames/guns and they look fairly nice. I don't want to ship my frame rather bring it somewhere to get done.
Any suggestions?? |

I will definately keep that as an option, especially if he can do it in one day. Don't mind driving up there to get it done but that's a 5 hour drive from where I am currently at. Was hoping to find someone in the southern part of the state.
Thanks for that link... put it in my favorites as an option. |

There's a guy in Denham Springs that does some nice looking work. Might be Gunsports LLC.. or something like that. Don't know about durability or his reputation, and don't have his card with me, as I am out of town. He's at all the gun shows at Lamar Dixon in Gonzales.

Wait a minute, aren't you doing it backwards? I always thought of a two tone as hard chromed frame with a blued slide. sometimes referred to as "reverse two-tone" Yeah, but I don't really see the point. I mean, with a traditional two tone, I always figured that the hard chrome lower was to resist corrosion/wear from the hand, while the blued top end was to reduce glare and "blend". What is the practicality of a "reverse" two tone? |
