| im normaly a 1911 man but recently my brother made me an offer. he's got a brand new G22 4th gen tritium sights, .40 3 clips ,safariland 6004 holster, galco triton IWB holster, and wants to trade me for my springfield 1911A1 custom 45acp. with wilson combat trigger, main spring,hammer spring, disconnector, firing pin spring, barrel bushing, bullet proof extractor, w.c. mainspring housing with extended mag well,high rise beaver tail extractor with memory bump, novac low mount tritium sights, micarta wilson grips and coated in brownell gun kote black slide/gray frame, 4 wilson combat #47D clips galco IWB, safriland drop leg holster. i know its all in what you want .... i would guess... soso i got a fourtune invested in that 1911 but i love the way that plastic fantastic shoots and carry's. not to mention 15 rounds vs 8 with my .45 i was just looking for some input ......thanks |
| thats about what i was thinking. he was wanting to swap even ...i was more along the lines of i would be taking a loss. but i do love that light weight glock i usually carry my 1911 on a daily basis and to switch to a glock is like going from an anvil to a feather. but like i said i got alot tied up in that anvil not to mention the 1.5b S/A trigger vs. the glock factory trigger witch isnt bad but it isnt the same. hell i dont know i built that one i can build another. |
| For the loss you would incur on the proposed trade, you could just buy and customize whatever Glock suits your fancy. You'd be a damned fool to make that trade, IMO. You built that 1911 to suit you, if your brother likes it so much, help him build another for himself. On HIS dime. |
| That would be a big no go. So you can buy a brand new Glock from Ed's Public Safety for $425+15 shipping+ 35 for the GSSF membership. So your 1911's worth would be $475 and thats for a brand spanking new in the box with 3 mags. His is used and I dunno how many mags but its used. Used Glock 22's can be had for $365. I know its not a 4th gen but I like the 2nd gen better than the 3rd and the 3rd better than the 4th. Thats just me though. |
| id say you all have a damn good point. ill keep what ive got ..i will however be in the market for a G22 as soon as the money permits. i really must say though i do love that little black plastic pistol its so easy and cheap to customize and shoots extremely well. i will buy one, but im gonna keep eleanor. |

| im gonna get a glock most likely a 22 i might get a 17 but i prefer a .40 to a 9 however 9 is much cheaper to shoot, eaaier to regain control for follow up or double taps. i apologize for clips reference im more of a rifle shooter i run the piss out of my AP4 she's a sweet little honey you otta see her but ...you also Have to have a secondary. ive been looking at a Hk .45 USP tactical but hell i think glock would give Hk a run for their money. |

I have a G21SF, and a buddy has the HK 45 USP Tactical. I get 1 more round, for half the price, plus my mags are cheaper. Yeah, it's a nice gun, but I am more accurate with my Glock than either of us is with his HK. Trust me, go with the Glock, you'll be much happier!!! |
