To answer your question, the hollow space between the rear of the magwell and the rear of the frame is filled w/ with a plastic compound like epoxy or rifle bedding material, that, when dry, can be sanded / cut to shape. To get the stippling, a compound similar to truck bedding is applied with sponges, rollers, or brushes (depending on the desired appearance). |

It is the method Robar uses but they are only one of many places that do that kind of work on Glocks and other polymer pistols.
