opinions on a two piece guide rod vs a one piece? I know yall have one lets hear it.

I run these makes the pistol lighter.  It does not make the pistol more or less reliable.  FLGR are put in pistols to increase the price for something that only has the advantage of adding muzzle weight.

I see the FLGR as a solution looking for a problem.  That and the only 1911 I've ever used one in has bad reliability problems, so I really don't like them.

All the 1911s I've built or will build contain GI guide rods.  I like the simplified takedown and being able to push on the plug to perform either a one-handed slide rack or a brass check.

I could go either way. I run a short GI now, but will be switching to a FLGR (one piece) for reasons mentioned in this thread.

I'm on the GI guide rod bandwagon. But when I did have one it was a one piece. For some reason it felt smoother to cycle.
