well i have always wanted a a new kimber 1911. now the time has come and i have been shopping around.
here is my problem i went in wanting a warrior just because of the look and the tough finish. but after learning a little more and comparing i am torn between an eclipse target II, a raptor II, or one of the warriors? i guess i dont "need" the rail and i will probably only use it for target shooting... i am leaning towards the eclipse just because of the match barrell, trigger, ect. either fixed or adjustable sights i am open to. they are all within the 50 dollars of each other so i guess what im wondering is which one is the best bang for the buck? thanks alot for the help!!!!!! |
| i really want a eclipse. they seem like great buns but i hear they scratch very easy. so if you dont think that will bother you and you are careful with you gun go for it. if you think your a little rougher on your guns like me try the raptor. either way you wont be disappointed unless your brass hits you in the head, or you get a oversize mag release that gets pushed up by the bullets as you shoot add least 2 times a box or if your barrel rust . i have all these problems with my new kimber but i still like it i think im sending it back for some special attention. i would buy another kimber it just seems like there is a huge CC problem |
| Warrior is the way to go if that's what you want. The extra weight up front causes it to feel softer in terms of recoil which makes for a good range gun. The finish is very durable as well. My warrior has been 100% and a blast to shoot. Pull the trigger on the warrior if that's what you want, you'll be happy you did. All Kimbers have the match barrel, you likely won't notice an accuracy difference without going up to a custom shop gun like the Super Match. |

last kimber I owned failed on me and this is after having a VERY VERY VERY good smith look it over. Yeah I fired it in the rain but man wtf if it won't work when you need it to then why own one. I will NEVER own a kimber again! Then get out of the Kimber section and troll elsewhere... |

| update! well i went into the dealer looked at all 3 i liked then said , ok which ones doe you have new in the box never opened? the only one they had was the eclipse target II so thats the one I got! so far i love it!!! thanks for the help! I put on a hogues grip. bought a kimber pro mag and a wilson tac mag. along with the mag that came with the gun. the kimber pro mag and wilson where about the same price and i can tell a big difference, the wilson just feels better! the stock mag has caused 2-3 jams! so i no longer use that mag. other than that i love the gun!!! |
| 4000 rds through my SIS and I love it. Just put VZ grips on it and cant get enough of the thing. That said if rail isnt your thing I like the raptor. ALOT. In person and in your hands it is an incredibly nice looking 1911 with the functional top slide serrations and grips.. might have to get one myself. |

Oh Dear GOD Please don't tell me you added the grip's with the finger grove's??? It's you's but a KIMBER is a Absolute Beautiful 1911 which cry's for beautiful wood or at the least AlumaGrips. Think about it. I honestly don't believe you can shoot any better with rubber grip's, but it's your's and you are the one that has to be happy with it :( I'm not trying to rag you but look above at the post pics & tell me the rubber look's as good? |
) but I like my Warrior more than any other gun I have ever owned. I don't care about the wear, this thing shoots.
