i know that it is a DAO Gp100. when were they made? how many were made? how do the wolf springs work as far as helping the trigger pull? i am used to finely tuned smiths, so this is a pretty big departure for me.

i also have this posted in the revolver section, but am trying to find out the answers

thanks

Greetings.

To find out when it was made check out the ruger website.  Enter your serial number and it pulls up the date of manufacture.

If I recall they were made for the Canadian Mounted Police (Mounties).  They wear nice outfits with interesting hats.

Wolf spings will probably help.  However since it may have been shot quite a bit for their qualification tests it may not need a mainspring.

On my Gp100, the biggest problem I have is with the trigger return spring.   I think the S&W difinitely has Ruger beat in this area.

thank you.  that combined with the information i gathered from the post in the revolver forum fills in most of the blanks.  i did get to shoot it for a bit today and i will never feel hindered with DOA
