| I have a 2002 uspc9. I believe I read the only change from that year to current was a firing pin. Will the new firing pin version drop in. |

As far as I know the only difference in the "new style" vs "original style" is that it has been beefed up a bit to prevent breakage. You can put the "New Style" firing pin in your 2002 USPc for piece of mind, but it's probably not necessary. You shouldn't have to replace the firing pin until 25000+ rounds (and probably not even then)The new style firing pins are $35 on HK Parts which is cheaper than the original style at this point. I think they have them at MidwayUSA pretty cheap as well. |

People have spare parts out the ying yang on here for there ar's I don't see a reason not to have spares for your pistol. |

On the full size USPs there are at least three firing pin versions: the original, a slightly tweaked original (somewhere in 2001-2003), and then a completely redesigned firing pin and firing pin block (2005). Years ago the original firing pin broke on my KK USP Tactical, I replaced it with the slightly tweaked version and it's worked fine since then. One of these days I may replace it with the completely new design (requires changing the firing pin, block, and both springs). The compact USPs might be different, though. |

Snap caps for dry fire practice and spare parts on hand definitely don't hurt. |
