| my only 2 pistols are a nighthawk talon and 10-8. i want an Heirloom Precision but can not afford one for a long time. is it crazy if i sell both nighthawks to have the best of the best 1911? i've never seen one in person but i hear there is no comparison between a nighthawk and an heirloom. 1 person even said he'd rather have 1 full house customthan have several Semi-customs. this would end up being my only handgun and for a long time. what are your thoughts? |
| As someone who has zero fascination with Nighthawks, I'd be tempted to trade up to the HP. I've drooled over Yost's work for years, and the style just suits me perfectly. I'd rather have one gun that is everything I wanted, and as they say, spend the rest of my life trying to wear it out. |

i have to say i'm tempted. it would still cost me another $1000-$1500 after i sell the pistols and then buy a colt series 70. their fighting gun is 3995.00 on the gun i send in. their best grade is 4495.00. signature is 4895.00. If you decide to sell (which I wouldn't...isn't that why God created credit cards?) I call dibs on the 10-8. IM a price if you decide to be crazy and let it go. |

Functionally I doubt it would be much better.
I also have a 10-8 and I could not ask for a much better 1911. Its ran through everything and its still kicking, not to mention will always be more accurate than me. That being said, it comes down to what you want. If you want it just because you do go for it, you only have one life. |

Two is one and one is none. Other than aesthetics and bragging rights, the Nighthawks should serve you just as well as any custom pistol. Just food for thought. This. Other than aesthetics and bragging rights, it won't really be an upgrade. Count me in. I agree with these guys. |

took them off the EE. i'll save for a colt series 70 and send it off late next year (or order a 3rd nighthawk) and shoot my nighthawks as much as possible.
you guys are right. it would be dumb to sell them since I love them anyway. always wanting something i dont have that costs more than i can afford. |

Quoted: Keep what you've got and start saving the $$$$$$$$$ for an Heirloom Precision build. I say this, too. If your Nighthawks run and run good.....and you shoot 'em well.....I would keep them. We've all seen Jason and Ted's work. I've seen their work on the range and have shot a couple of their guns.....Jason and Ted are both really awesome guys and have a very well earned repuation,,,, Maybe sell ONE Nighthawk, keep the other and then you'll have a bit less cash to pony up when you can afford the HP....I mean, if I could afford it...I would get an HP in a heartbeat. |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I wouldn't sell that one man, nighthawk isn't making the 10-8 guns anymore! (springfield is... in limited runs) |

| Don't do it. The Heirloom gun in all likelyhood isn't going to shoot any better than the Nighthawks. You can bet it will have more attention payed to detail and be finished better but in terms of longevity and shootability I think you'll regret getting rid of them |
