I'm having problems, the damn thing wont come out, I have tried turning it with no luck, are kimber different from other 1911s? I noticed a gash on the rod, but I don't think it would effect takedown. it is a full length guide rod.

What exactly are you doing

Depress the FLGR plug so that it's flush with the front of the slide.

Rotate the barrel bushing to the left untill it clears the plug.

Release pressure on the plug allowing it to extend out of the slide. (Carefully )

Pull recoil spring forward out of the slide

Rotate the barrel bushing to the right and remove

Pull slide back untill the diassembly notch lines up on the slide stop

Remove slide stop from frame

Remove the slide from the frame and complete disassembley
