I saw something on the surefire site, it was small it had to light settings I don't remmeber the $$ though, it was some special deal and it came with a case or something like that.  I'd check there first.

If it is not a surefire, it could be something like the peak carribean....or something along the lines of an HDS EDC light.  They are not "tactical" lights, but they are still very bright.  The HDS EDC has 20 levels of brightness and a high setting of 60 lumens.  I have the HDS EDC 60 XR GT and I love it.  You would be hard pressed to find a better light that "fits in the palm of your hand"  IMO it is superior to any surefire in quality, function, and its extremely compact size.  I just re-read your post, you mentioned around 80 bucks...it very well could be the peak.

with the different level of power the surefires mentioned above are the only i know of. but you should look at the surefire e2e and e1e also. i just put my e2d through the washing machine and dryer for the SECOND time and both times(and still as i sit here writing this) works perfectly - i dont think you can beat surefire for quality - i really really dont!

Good luck
