since i didnt want to hijack the sct mag thread, i hadnt heard that 226 mags fit loosely in a 229r. is this really true? i will be buying a 229R .40 in less than a month and im trying to stock up on mags now.

The 226 mags will be loose in a 229 but they should work ok.
Search around on that Sig Forum link above for a guy named Greg Cote. He deals in magazines and odds and ends. I've done business with him twice and been very pleased.

Go to topgunsupply.com for your mags. You'll find everything you need there, Mec Gar makes a 15rd that fits flush and work great for me. P226 mags do fit loose but work fine in mine.
