| Hey guys. Heard about the new microstamping law that is trying to be passed in NY. Does it look like the law is going to be passed? What would it mean for law abiding gun owners if the law passes? |

It would mean they could steal someones gun and use it in a crime and if you didn't know about the theft right away and the police identified the casings to you then your going to be arrested for no reason. A criminal is going to use a gun no matter what feature or law is on the books, hence why they are breaking the law. There is no way micro-stamping will prevent crime nor will it help in any investigation to catch someone. It would not do anything put bring up cost on guns. They tested the firing pin and slide micro-stamping method and it was not clear what the markings where after so many shots. Even though it failed they said its still good. Their other method was to have ammo manufactures serialize all ammo, case and bullet included. The ammo manufactures said it would halt ammo production just to put in the time to make space for the new equipment and be way to expensive which would result in the military and police departments getting no ammo for awhile. I think that last fact is why they dumped it. Anti-gunners think their ideas are wonderful until it hinders the Stormtroopers which would be their only line of defense since they should not have guns because their so evil.  All I know is if micro-stamping ever became close to being implemented, I would stock up on firing pins and slides since what I have now would be the last handguns I ever bought.

I always like to tell anti-gunners that I have the perfect idea to end all of this violence...
"You simply make it illegal to hurt or kill someone with a gun or a knife and POOF... no more violence." When they look at me like I am retarded, I then tell them that what they are wanting is equally stupid because if someone is going to commit a major felony such as murder or armed robbery, they do not give a shit about some weapons laws that might get in their way. They somehow cannot understand that it is the "bad guy" and not the gun that is the problem... what really makes their heads explode is when I tell them that I carry my own gun to prevent myself from being the victim of a bad guy with a gun... These people have a mental condition where they cannot understand basic logic. |
