| This past weekend I took my CHL. I shot with my XD 45 since a freind wanted to use my Sig 225. I got a box of CCIs for the class. We shot at an indoor range. I was expecting muzzel flash but damn. My second shots were always worse thatn the first due to flash and the taget swaying. Three yards was close for twenty rounds. Do the CCI rounds have any more muzzel flash than any other ammo. Passed even though the second shots were a little off but the targets chest area were well filled woth holes. I feel quite comfotable with the results because it a perp was to take those rounds instead of paper he would be leaking like a sive and crying for mooma as the instructor said. |

Different ammo brands use different powder loads, thus will have different levels of flash, shooting "dirty", etc. etc. But three yards is pretty darn close for about any ammo mfgr, IMO. Too close to tell much difference in ammo, in other words. Also, a bright muzzle flash at night will ruin your night vision as well. Back off to 5-7 yards for better, more practical practice as well. Try different ammo brands. Don't overlook GA Arms ammo either, good stuff. |
