| this is my first NIB 1911, so im enduring but enjoying the break in period. the safety was almost impossible to operate while using a normal firing grip, but now it 80% operable, im sure that will smooth out soon enough. the hammer is also a little rough too when drawing it back, but hopefully that will smooth out as well. my S&W pictured above has neither of these issues, but it also has about 2000 rounds thru it. |

my groups with the above pistol got worse and worse, until i end up sending mine back to springfield for some work to be done. i sent along a target with a group literally 18 inches wide at 25y.
they replaced the barrel, bushing, front and rear sights, tweaked the tigger, and sent back a target with a 4 inch group. ive not taken it to the range yet, but their customer service was outstanding and theyre just good people in general. |

Was able to take my Mil-Spec out again last Friday and let my 26 yr old son give it a go. It worked perfectly again so that's now just under 400rds without a single issue, yep not even one with a brand new 1911 shooter at the trigger to boot. I fed it a mag full of my old Speer GD 'Flying Ashtrays' again they fed slick as snot, again. Nothing bothers this Springer which makes me very happy. I use my G20/21L for longer range shooting so this time I let my Springer have a go at 50+ yds. Even though it's sights aren't adjustable target models, it proved to be right on at 50 yds. Overall, I'm tickled to death with it. |
