| what would u guys value a colt python nickel finish 4in barrel at? help quickly lol |

Quoted:
Condition is EVERYTHING. Anywhere from 500 to 1200 dollars, depending on condition. Don't forget, a broken, bent, or mis-timed python is a boat anchor. Missing parts are just that.... missing. Colt's does not support or service this revolver. are you absolutely positive about this? |

I'm a little surprised by some of the prices people are quoting. Around here the prices have gone completely stupid. I haven't checked Gun Broker but my understanding is that ridiculous asking prices on there are driving the market.
I tried to buy my neighbor's used nickel finish, used no box or papers. Offered him $1200. A local gun store employee who is a respected pistol collector told me my offer was top dollar for the pistol in that condition. Neighbor laughed at the offer. Claims pistol is $2,000+ on Gun Broker in it's current condition. |

In that light, they are a steal. It's not 1994 anymore, so no more $400 detective specials in royal blue, and no more $650 colt guard pythons. Just wait until all of the NIB pythons hiding out in the sock drawers old farts dissappear. Prices will align with USGI 1911's. Is it worth it? For a shooter? Just get a nice 686. For a collector or enthusiast, why not? I will agree that there are some real turds out there that are jacked in pricing due to it being a python, but a 90%+ gun is really a great value and not in short supply. |
