Just brought home my new 75 B! Absolutely gorgeous! Pictures do NOT do these things justice. Oozes beauty. Haven't gotten to shoot it yet but have been tinkering around with it a bit. Noticed there is a lot of takeup in single action mode. Its smooth, not gritty or anything, just long. Got the safety model, so DA isn't much of a concern for me. Does the single action takeup get better with breaking in, or is it something that a trigger job is gonna have to do? Again, haven't shot it yet, and I feel bad asking a question like this with having even shot such a well made pistol, but curiosity runs wild with me.

Best regards

Yes the trigger will smooth out some over time.

As far as take up and all that, with a FPB there is a lot of movement that has to happen for the gun to reset and the FPB to reset. Unless you remove the FPB there is only so much that can be done.

Above is correct.  Also if you have been dry firing it you will notice the hammer camming rearwards before it drops.  Only way to fix that is to replace the hammer with a CZ Custom hammer, send your hammer to Cajun Gun Works or get your files out and change the geometry yourself.  I thought my triggers were gritty and doing a little polish job helped speed up things.

If you plan on doing any work yourself make sure you have a starter punch.  Some of those pins are uber tight and staked in the hammer and strut area

No need to send it to Cajun Gun Works they offer kits that are relatively easy to do yourself.  Their hammer kits come with "adjustable" sears.  No need to file and fit like a CZ Custom hammer.  I highly recommend them!

Anotherfor Cajun Gun Works.

I did this: http://www.cajungunworks.com/cgw_2.html

i got the target/comp cut and the light spring kit and it feels like a tuned 1911 trigger.

Who has both the Cajun and CZ Custom Comp hammer?  Which one do you prefer?

I have the CZ comp hammer and one I reprofiled by hand.  The one I did by hand is nicer than the comp hammer but I don't feel like making a temp jig and messing around again.

To really get rid of take-up, you would have to convert to SAO. Some SA take-up is in the very nature of being DA/SA.
