Just bought my first smith n Wesson. Its a model 60 pro series 357. Love it so far think its my new edc. Anyway I have alot of firearms just not alot of revolvers. My only other revolver is a judge and a raging bull 454.  My new smith is 357 mag but I keep hearing of guys shooting 38 or 38+p for target then 357 for carry because its easier on the gun and hand and wallet. Main question is since the gun is chambered for 357 doesn't that mean that I can choose to only shoot 357 out of it and nt worry about premature wear? That's why I went with a smith revolver was the durability reputation.  Is it really that hard on the gun even though that's what it was made for? Or is this only a concern for the cheaper name brands or the super light weight snubies made of plastic or aluminum? Thanks for your time!

That 60 will be fine if all you ever shoot is .357
It just a money thing to practice with the .38

Yep. Your wallet will wear out far before the gun does.
