| First off, it is a tec 22. most of you will leave right there. but I have not had problems till now. I went out to the range today and the gun was catching the shell before it could fully eject, like it was pinching it with the bold. anyhow, this is the first time it has done this. is there any idea what I could do about this? BTW my little marlin .22 is doing the same thing. any help would be aprreciated |

I've never had a tec22, but I have had that problem on 2 different .22LR guns. Fixed it in the AR7 with different ammo (many .22s are finicky about ammo). Try a high velocity ammo and make sure the gun is clean. Fixed it in the Ruger 10/22 with a better extractor. |

that is what I am thinking. I will try some higher velocity rounds, but the strange thing is that the subsonic rounds dont seem to be as big of a problem. but I will try to clean it much more. BTW, are those yellow jacket rounds any different? they seem like they are just "painted" with brass. |

It's called a "copper wash". Better than straight lead against the bore as far as fouling goes, but I don't know by how much. FWIW, the problems with my AR7 started when I tried some Aguila SSS rounds. 5 rounds fired with no problem - I was just trying it out. Then I went back to the CCI Blazers (all lead) and it failed on every round! I have tried several different types of copper coated bullets after that and they work great. Something else I have tried with good results... Instead of lubing with oil I have been using Birchwood Casey Dri-lube on the 22s. Seems to run cleaner/longer since there is nothing wet to collect carbon, etc. |
