Finally got the new Beretta M9A1 Compact outdoors for its initial “break-in” rounds…
WOW!! Flawless function (as expected) and SUPERB trigger (D spring WORKS as advertised! ) I hiked in to my favorite backwoods “range” on a crisp, sunny morning, and put 200 rounds through this new Beretta. 
Against my better judgment, I had installed some aftermarket parts before putting any rounds downrange….not very smart, as it is always wiser to shoot a new gun in factory configuration, IMO. I had installed a Wilson Combat single-sided, low profile safety/decocker lever, a D spring and a skeletonized trigger. I had field stripped and cleaned & lubed the pistol, as well as keeping the mags loaded up for the past couple weeks. Fired 150 rounds of Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ, 50 rounds of ZQ1 NATO 124gr FMF, and 50 rounds of Remington Golden Saber 124 gr +P JHP: All rounds fed, fired and functioned and ejected with ZERO problems. This pistol is my new carry pistol, and has the finest trigger that I’ve felt in a LONG time. Transitioning from first shot DA to subsequent SA shots was VERY easy with the D spring installed. Super accurate, as I was hitting fragments of clay pigeons with EASE, from 10 to 20 yds out. Rapid fire was FUN with the very short reset on this pistol. I’m in love…..

This model came with night sights installed....Police model. The factory sticker on the case says "For Law Enforcement only"... |
