I have a gen 3 glock 22 with a bad trigger safety so I went to my LGS and purchased a trigger bar and trigger assembly thinking that I could just take it home and replace it myself. When I put the new unit in and reassembled the frame, the trigger would not move back.  I dont understand what is wrong because I've detail stripped glocks thousands of times before and I cant figure out why this dosent work.   The trigger bar appears to be in spec with the old unit, and it is a brand new glock OEM part.   I wonder if my lgs sold me the wrong part.

Is there any way to tell if I have the correct trigger bar/ trigger assembly?

What if any markings are on the trigger bar cruciform of both the old trigger bar and the new trigger bar?

Example, G20/21 trigger bars with 4256 and 4256-1 marked cruciforms:

From the 2009 Glock Armorer's Manual, possible causes and solutions for the trigger failing to release:
1. Connector loose in trigger housing - replace housing
2. Pistol is excessively dirty - clean
3. Wrong trigger bar - replace with correct trigger bar
4. Connector needs lubrication - lubricate connector
5. Trigger bar is bent/damaged - replace trigger bar

the original trigger bar is unmarked, the new one is marked as 4256-1.  The gun although well used, is immaculate.  I suspect the trigger bar is incorrect because the trigger is locked and I doubt that a little lube will solve the issue.  It is worth a try though.

That's the wrong trigger bar for a G22. A 4256-1 trigger bar is to be used only in the G20/21/29/30.

Lock the slide back and take the slide cover plate off, then pull the firing pin assembly out of the slide. You should now be able to push the slide forward off of the frame. From there you should be able to detail strip the frame and take the trigger bar out.
