I looked through the topics and I didn't see a thread about BHP serial numbers for the date of manufacture. I know the one I got from my Dad has to be date at least in the '70s but just to be sure. The serial number on it is 72C60XXX.

Easiest Hi Powers to date are the "C" series. The year of manufacture are the first two digits, in your case it's 1972.
