Hey guys, I never shipped a firearm before as all my sales are usually local. I am thinking about throwing my XDS up in the EE but want to know what im getting myself into before I do. I know I have to ship to FFL but who do you usually ship through? What would the expected rate range be to ship an XDS in its factory hard case which I would think is about 1.5' x 1.5'

thanks

Cost is about $50 to ship it yourself via UPS or FedEx.

If you have a gunshop you frequent, it's often cheaper to pay them a little bit to ship it since they can ship USPS.  (about $14)

The last pistol I shipped cost $138 through FEDEX. I think the $50 days are gone. They won't even let you use the next day air saver anymore. One of the local dealers here has a business attached to his FFL that is not gun related. He charges handing, freight,  insurance and actual shipping which comes to about $100. Then he ships USPS Registered Mail. That is the slowest mail in the USPS and can take weeks at times to get there. Do you think I use him.....lol?

I transfer and ship through an FFL so $10 for the transfer and $16 for USPS Priority.

I was going to next day air a pistol to TX to get the Sig Armorer to work on it but it was going to cost $90. I decided I didnt' need the action job that bad.
