my good friend and i have had this debate for years now i want to hear from you guys as you can see from my name i love my sigs i own 3 and cant wait to get my next one. What Glock? What Sig? When was the Sig made? If I was going into a gunstore to buy a handgun I would have to depend on right out of the box it would be a G17 without question. Sigs no longer have the out of the box reliability they once had because the people who used to run Kimber were brought in to run Sig's American production. They made record profits by eliminating critical QC procedures on most consumer (and many LE) guns which has resulted in a number of problems. That same management has now been promoted to run all international operations. Record profits, you know...that's how success is defined.
Glock certainly isn't immune from idiocy, but their G17 seems to be the one gun that they can't seem to fuck up. If you're asking which is better....well...that depends on you. Personally I would rather have the G17 for most applications than anything in Sig's lineup partially because of QC issues, and partially because of the ease of working on Glocks. It's easier to replace the sights, critical components (not that they need much replacing), you name it. The controls on a Glock are easier to customize for preference, and the consistent trigger pull from shot to shot (available on the DAK sigs) maximizes the benefit of limited training time. Glocks tend to be a bit easier to conceal than most Sigs, in my experience. I've owned several Sigs over the years, but the only one I have now is a P239 in 9mm. |

I had a 229 Elite and a 239.
They are nice, but I don't like them because with a thumbs forward grip, I depress the slide lock so it doesn't lock on the last round. Plus I had a really bad experience with their customer service. Basically telling me my warranty was void because I removed the grips on my 229. However, my favorite gun for quite awhile now is my Glock 26. It's no-nonsense and all business. People who think its too fat for CCW are just silly. With a Versa-max II holster, the thing vanishes under a t-shirt (and not like how some people claim a full size 5" disappears, this literally does and I'm really picky.) |

I had a p228 made in West Germany and it was a nice piece. But, I like glocks better.
Glocks tend to have a higher capacity in the same size pistol, they tend to be lighter in the same size pistol, they tend to recoil softer for me because of the lower bore axis. I can fix anything on a glock myself. Mags are cheaper. Holsters are easier to find. Glocks are more corrosion resistant. Overall, I think they make a better gun for carrying. To me a Sig looks and feels like a higher quality gun, but ymmv. |

Sigs P22x series guns are typically very well built guns but they have never worked well for me (i.e. I'm not very accurate with them). I also hate DA\SA triggers and de-cockers and don't much care for their DAK trigger either. Glocks are the complete opposite for me so what I'm saying is, my Glocks are my go to guns and I while I'll never bad mouth a Sig P22x series gun, I'll probably never own one again either. Now if I ever won the lottery, I would love to get an X5! |

As JonhWayne777 said, which Sig or Glock?
I generally prefer the Glocks myself. The Glocks offer me more. Comparing comparable pistols, say, G17 to Sig P226......................... G17 is lighter has greater capacity is slightly less bulky, for carry I like the durability of the polymer frame less parts, less parts to break mags are cheaper easier maintenance, down to the last pin and spring easier to modify the trigger pull to ones own liking Those are some things that are important to me, myself, and I. I like a consistent trigger pull. Glock offers that. To me, DA/SA is an outdated concept, and Sigs answer (the DAK) leaves alot to be desired. |

I carried a Sig P226 9mm on duty for 16 years. I took it to the range all the time and qualified with it every year and it never failed me. I have no idea why but I didn't like it. I carried a Glock 19 for a short time and liked it. I now carry a Glock 22 and I like the Glocks but don't care for the Glock 22 because of the horror stories about them. It hasn't failed me and has shot great every time I take it to the range and qualification. We're going to the Glock 21SF and I think I'm gonna like this one. Glock is going to manufacture ours in August. The chief is going with 45 ACP Speer LE Gold Dot 200gr. +P HP Ammo. |

As others have stated... I like Sigs... Got a P239 and a G19 with me right now...
The 239 is in the truck for the range later... the G19 is on my hip. I really prefer the lower bore axis of the G19 and am much more effective with it. Nothing wrong with the Sig but after shooting both a ton... the Glock wins for me every time. My Dad is all about Sigs and is more effective with them... no worries... use what works for you best. |

Glock is superior in every way(except accuracy) to a Sig and I say this as an old Sig fan. Can you please define how they are superior in every way??? Craftsmanship? Materials? Ergonomics??? Glock is far more durrable, The Teffiner finish is much better then Nitron, Sig use to be a reliable pistol but since quality is way down you have a very good chance of getting a problematic pistol. Glock customer service is also much better. Things like trigger, ergonomics, grip are all a matter of opinion. I use to be a Sig fan boy and I still am but Glock does make the better pistol. |
I don't agree with this statement, but nonetheless it's funny as hell...
