i'm looking at a taurus model 82, 38 special, stainless steel. i'm getting it as something to throw in the glovebox(legal in kentucky) and leave there. he wants $150 for it. decent price? decent gun? i've never dealt with a taurus before, but from what i've read and heard they are good guns.

assuming i buy it, is it ok to load it with 6 rounds? or should i leave the hammer on an empty chamber? this will be my first revolver(other than a heritage 22). thanks for the help

Decent price and you can load all six.
It would be nice if you could "road test" it, but for $150...I'd just do it.
Gunbroker.com has a few for $100 more.

i "road tested" it the other day. put 50 rounds through it. which is more than the guy that owns it has put through it since he bought it. and he bought it brand new. shot pretty good. it's one of my friends dads gun. he let me borrow it for a week so i could shoot it a little bit. i think i'm going to get it.....just wish it was a 357 instead of a 38
