Will STI build a gun that is convertible from .40 s&w to 10mm? with just a barrel and mag swap?
is this possible or am I just dreaming? can it even be done? I'm thinking a 5.0 Tactical. |
| Not sure if STI will fit a 10mm barrel to your STI 40 or not. I think.that Dawson would fit a 10mm barrel if you bought it from them. You shouldn't different mags. I have an SVI, Para P16 and a Springfield SS that have 10mm barrels fitted to them. The SVI & P16 work with the 40 S&W mags. Good luck. |
| GAZ32...although they are designed to headspace on the case mouth, they may also headspace on the extractor, and will fire.... I had a friend that was transitioning from a .45 to .38super in the early days of USPSA down here, a round of .38super got loaded by mistake, and fired in the .45... a funny looking case extracted, it had split and came out like a sheet of nickled brass.... |

i would check with dave dawson, STI, or even try to contact Infinity and see if they will do it (but its going to be big $$$$ though)
If none of that works, there is a man named Eddie Jiminea that lives in sugarland/stafford Tx who is active in the IPSC community and is a master gunsmith who specializes in STI race guns. It would be a bit like you hiking into the mountains of china to have a ninja sword made by some super old long whispy bearded guy, but its an option if you're motivated enough.
