I've got a broken trigger spring that needs to be replaced. Do all models use the same size spring? I'm only finding one size. Next, if one spring has broken are there other parts that probably need to be replaced now also? |

All you need to do is replace the spring. There is only one size. I suggest replacing with the NY-1 spring. You will never break it. You can read more about it here: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=13&t=59981 |

If you are talking about the small/short "s" spring in the trigger mechanism housing. Then yes there is only one for all Glocks. Part #350, info taken from the Armorer's Manual. Just make sure to install with each hook of the spring in opposite directions. As for other parts you may want to replace, think about the firing and recoil spring. This all depends on your usage. |

+1 , easy fix. FWIW - I did not like the NY-1 spring and went back to stock. But I did not use a 3.5lb connector with it. I'd take a look at the other springs - but they are probably fine. It's a good idea to get a parts kit anyway before you need to. Fix , go shooting and have fun. -JC |
It's a 2nd gen. I believe the date of manufacture is 1994. Has 2 pins, rather than 3 on the newer models. I don't see the hole indicated in the picture but then I don't have it disassembled either. img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/hotrod9mm/Connector-holes.jpg
I probably need to order one of those as well then, right? |
I'll check out the ling matthewdanger offered. I had gotten pretty used to the trigger the way it was and wasn't initially thinking I need to improve it but maybe I don't know what better is unless I try it?
Thanks JC, sounds like the prescription I used to break it in the first place since I'm guessing it broke from general wear. |

There is some good info in this thread! That is a great pic of the trigger bars. Just as food for thought... The G23 that I had that broke two trigger springs was a 3rd Gen with the newest trigger bar. The problem of breaking trigger springs was largely corrected with the new trigger bars, but the trigger spring is still a somewhat poor design in my view, at least compared with the more robust NY-1. |
