So I have a M&P pro 9mm 5". I was looking at doing the under cut in the trigger guard next to the mag release. I was just seeing if anyone here has done one on a M&P and could help me out with a good diy....

Thanks

That area is already pretty thin. Take too much material out and you'll be into the mag catch.

S&W put that area up about as far as they could.
You'd need to take a really close look inside the frame to insure there's no open area inside that can't be seen easily.
The risk of breaking through probably isn't worth what little improvement you might get.

Go slow, don't take off too much material as stated before.
I used a wooden dowel rod and sandpaper to re-contour that area.
Be patient and remember you are reshaping it more than removing material.

I concentrated more on dealing with the squared off edges that seemed to bite int my fingers while gripping and shooting the gun.
My hand are pretty good size as a result my fingers were bunched together pretty tightly on the grip of the pistol, and fit better after re-shaping this area.

You are effectively fitting the grip of the gun to your hand so you may or may not need to take off more material than the next guy.
I recommend using a heat gun to re-texture the surface once you are done.
