which ammo will you pick for your 1911 for hd or carry?

Winchester RANGER
Federal HST
Hornady CQ TAP
or any suggestion??

whichever of those three feed the most reliably in your weapon would work just fine, though I prefer the hornady.

Buy as much as you can afford and see which works best with your carry mags and weapon.

Quite honestly with terminal ballistics, when it becomes "go-time" you probably won't remember the tiny fractional differences in performance between the three.

All 3 will kill people dead. Stick to the one that feeds the best and you will be perfectly safe with them in your gun.

Whatever one feeds the best and is the most accurate in your gun.

After that, it's up to you to put them where they need to go.

given all run through your gun, the Hornady and PDX-1's are my favorite.  The TAP is nice because of less muzzle flash
