anybody use the "add on" wilson combat checkered front grip strap, the kind that slips over your smooth grip in front and slides under the grip panels?

I can't afford to send the gun off to get checkered and thought this might be a good alternative.

No its not. If I had to buy another one I wouldnt. I picked up a Colt awhile back that the owner had one on it. Grip tape while I saved for a checkering job for me.



1911smith is right, its like a cheese grater, you can actually see holes through the very tips of the points.
