I just put one of the ria tacticals on layaway and would like to have a few hundred rds to run through it once it gets here. I've never shot a 1911 nor .45 acp so I'm thinking if I like it and it runs good ill pick up dies and start rolling my own. Would the wolf ammo be ok to run it through its paces to decide if its a gun/caliber I want to set up for?

I would suggest you run some qaulity ammo to get a good feel for your pistol.  I know my Springfield hates wolf ammo and for me it I would be as accurate as throwing the rounds at the target, but load up anything brass cased and she is a shooter.  I would just hate for you to run some wolf through it and feel like you got a crap pistol because it didnt perform.

That's exactly what I needed to know spread over the cost of a few hundred rds its probably only 5 or 6 extra bucks maybe 10 from what  prices I'm seeing plus it'll give me some brass to start if I decide to run with it .... Thanks for the input

If your thinking or reloading for it I'd go brass.  Winchester white box is cheaper and reloads fine.  45acp is a easy round to reload.  With that said I've ran a lot of steelcased tthrough mine with no issues either.

Wolf should run fine in your pistol.  You might have to run a lighter recoil spring, but it will work.  It's going to be just as accurate as Blazer brass/aluminum.

If you plan on reloading (sounds like you have a press, you just need dies), a few hundred brass casings doesn't amount to much.

My S/A GI 1911 doesn't like WPA at all but will feed everything else I've tried. Too bad, too, because even Blazer aluminum case .45ACP is expensive these days. I'll probably try Wolf again after the gun loosens up a little more.
