I picked up a 3.8 compact in 9mm over the weekend. Sold my XD 9 subcompact to a friend and bought the XDM. I shot it yesterday for the first time, and I love it! It's got a better trigger, a better grip, great sights, and a match barrel. The felt recoil was noticeably less than on my subcompact, and it sits really well in my hand. the 19+1 option with the mag extension is a really nice upgrade. I would highly recommend upgrading to one if you are capable of doing so.

Bought one yesterday.

Delayed for pick up until Saturday.

(Long, long, long, profanity filled rant here).

I guess the fact that I have a carry permit and traded in another fully functional pistol bought at the same store by me for it didn't matter.

Picked one up and shot it for the first time Monday.  I am sold.  Feels great in the hand, and shoots great.  I put on one of the XD grip extensions on the little 13 round mag.  It doesn't quite fit perectly, but it works.  Pearce is supposedly going to come up with xdm specific extensions soon.  I really like it a lot.  Carrying it in an ROG IWB holster and it tucks away beautifully.

Never shot any other XD series, other than an XDM 40 fullsize.  The trigger however is really nice.  Much better than Glocks I have shot.

I started with a 4.5 XDM.  Really enjoy shooting it.  Was interested in a smaller version.  Looked at the first 3.8 and really could not get interested in that one.  Had heard there might be a compact version coming out but was suprised to actually see on in a local shop.  Liked it and traded a seldom shot S&W 642 and a few dollars for the 3.8 compact.  Have had it out to the range only once with about 100 rounds down range.  I can not get my pinky on the grip at all but it felt very good shooting and was pretty accurate.  Still not enough time to get a much better report.  It is so much shorter in the grip and conceals much easier than the full size 4.5 version.  Now need to find a good concealment holster.

I've got one of these to tide me over till my VMII shows up in another couple months.  It's a great holster for the money.

I carry a Crossbreed Supertuck. It's a fantastic holster. I'd highly recommend it. the cut is great, and it's very comfortable to wear. I recommend spending the extra little bit for the horsehide, instead of the leather. It breathes much better than leather, which is imperative for summer carry in TX. they also offer a discount to NRA members.

I like my MTAC holster though I'm disliking their CS more and more. Great holster, poor CS. I just like the more refined MTAC design better than a crossbreed.
